Trami Reading at Ingrid Lacey Middle School in Pacifica, CA January 2017
It was a rewarding experience to read from Chapter one of VietnamEazy to seventh and eighth graders from Ingrid Lacey Middle School in Pacifica CA. Thank you Mr. Ken Tin for opening the doors for me to share my story with these delightful students.
I enjoyed meeting every one and especially connecting with individual students as I learned their stories and struggles.
I had a chance to donate 10 books so more students may learn more about the Vietnamese culture.
I hope they will remember these three messages as they go through life:
1. Don't be afraid to fail. Failing is a normal part of life and it is okay to fail.
2. Dream Big! Dream so big that it scares you. If it doesn't scare you, it is not big enough.
3. Have compassion for others. Compassion leads to understanding. Understanding leads to harmony.
Thank you for making me feel welcomed.
