Bánh Cuốn and the Middle Class in Vietnam
My first breakfast in Vietnam is Bánh Cuốn or rolled rice cake. They remind me of my childhood. It is also nice to see a growing number of middle class families dining in nice resrtaurants.
In the past I would not have seen so many fine restaurants and young families enjoying themselves. I remember starving children waiting for me to not finish my Phở so they can eat the left over broth. Feeling a little lonely for my family!
